Choose Your Own Adventure
Curt Altarac

This lightning fast clinic will take you from the most basic repair to the most advanced techniques in tricking out a saxophone. Throughout the day, we'll have 3 action packed mini-clinics. Part 1 will be an overhaul overview that ties in Curt's philosophy of repair. Part 2 will address advanced modifications and tuning and toning. Part 3 is assessment and Q&A. All attendees are encouraged to bring their most troublesome saxophone. We'll look at each individual instrument and assess it for a repair plan and possible modifications. As time allows, Curt will answer any additional questions from attendees.

This course is going to be a whirlwind of saxophone repair that will take you through Curt's philosophy, practice, and practical application, and will end differently for each attendee depending on your specific goals and questions. Don't miss this chance to elevate your saxophone repair to a new level!

Curt Altarac is the saxophone world's renaissance man. Repair technician, musician, innovator, business owner, pad maker, repair shop founder, repair supply retailer, manufacturer, consultant, importer, and educator. His ideas continue to shake up the repair world through the many avenues of his creativity.

Curt Altarac founded MusicMedic and the Sax ProShop in 1999, as a symbiotic relationship between supplies, tools, research and development, and practical application. Many of the tools and techniques he created are industry standard today, such as his methods of Tuning and Toning. He later founded a third branch of the business making woodwind pads, and his current projects include making saxophone necks, developing the tooling to make his own line of saxophones, and designing and importing The Wilmington series of affordable high quality woodwind instruments. Curt continues to be an avid educator and clinician, eager to share his passion and ideas with students and technicians all over the world.
